Turbinate Reduction
The turbinates are structures that hang into the nasal cavity that help to humidify the air that we breathe. The turbinates often swell, leading to nasal obstruction. Turbinates can be reduced in size under local anesthesia in the office, or under general anesthesia when combined with sinus surgery or septal surgery. Reducing the size of the turbinates can greatly improve the ability to breathe through the nose.
